Docs Get started Concepts Concepts and glossary The terms used across PEERLESS docs, from builds and releases to parties and match squads.
# Store and releasesTerm Meaning Listing Your game's store page: title, artwork, description, price, tags and page design. Build One uploaded ZIP (or repository import). Builds are immutable once uploaded. Release A build with a permanent release number, version label and notes. Live release The release players launch. Uploading a new build does not change it. Candidate A release being checked or reviewed before it can go live. Library The games a player owns. Free games join on first real play; paid games after payment. Entitlement The record that a player owns a game. Refunds and moderation can revoke it.
# PlayersTerm Meaning Verified player A signed-in account with a verified email address. Guest A temporary identity that can play free games and join parties without an account. Guests can keep their identity by registering. Player ID A stable ID scoped to your game . It is never the platform account ID, and the same person has a different ID in another game. Launch / grant A short-lived authorization for one player to play one release. The SDK's runtime credentials come from it. Play A launch the player engaged with. Store-page loads only count once the player clicks into the game.
# Social and multiplayerTerm Meaning Party A persistent group of friends who want to play together. Managed by PEERLESS. Launch cohort The ready party members included in one shared launch. Room A network session: a relay room, a listen lobby or a server match. Match squad A temporary gameplay team inside a match. It never becomes a party. Enhanced player The PEERLESS player overlay with party, chat, settings and fullscreen.
# SDK modesPeerless.init() returns mode: "peerless" inside the PEERLESS player and mode: "standalone" everywhere else. Standalone mode makes no platform requests, so one build can ship to several channels. Optional features report availability through context.capabilities, and unsupported calls reject with PEERLESS_UNSUPPORTED.
